Social Problems Among Teenagers in our country.. What are the reasons?

Social problems defined as the general factors that affect the society and normally being used to describe problems involving a group people in the society. Examples of social problems that is correspond to the teenagers nowadays are drug abusing, illegal racing and free mixing between men and women which lead to rape cases.

What are the reasons to all this problems? The first reason is a deterioration in terms of upbringing, education, guidance and control by both parents. In addition, pressures of life, attitude and involvement in the pursuit of wealth and other social activities cause parents and children have little time to speak and talking about problems that the children face to their parents. As a result, teenagers take their own lives without guidance and supervision of their parents.

The second reason is the influence from the mass media which are also being formed behaviour of young adults in the face of challenges. A variety of unhealthy motivation displayed by this exposure resulting in their footsteps. Thus to satisfy this desire, they wander in the shopping centres and indirectly involved in free mixing.

Another reason is the teenagers themselves made mistakes in choosing their peers. At teenagers age, they are easily influenced especially by their peers. They will just follow anything that their peers do without thinking about the good and bad effect in the sake of “trying new things”. This is the time where the teenagers involve in illegal racing, smoking, and taking drugs.

Hence, social problems among teenagers has been a serious case in our country these days. Various measures had been taken and implemented but without co-operation from the Malaysian community, this problems will be impossible to overcome.
